Manolo Gallardo Mansylla, Guatemalan painter. He was born on 1936 in Guatemala City. Gallardo studied at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes of San Fernando, Artium Academy, Peña de Madrid Academy and San Carlos de Valencia Academy, Spain.
Since 1954 to the date he has received over 50 national and international recognitions. In 1995 he received the Orden del Quetzal (Guatemala’s greatest honor) in the degree of Gran Oficial. In the year 2000, he obtained the Award Meritorio Plástica, Arco Iris Maya; and in 2002 he received the degree of Emeritissimum, at the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala.
He has also participated in several exhibits, personal and collective; among them, at the Museo Regional de Chiapas, Mexico; Museo Vaticano, Roma, Italia; EXPO 92, Sevilla; Casa Do Brasil, Madrid, Spain, etc.
